Suzanne Glass

Suzanne Glass is a music junkie.

Once bitten with the musician bug almost 20 years ago, she was hooked. Within the first year of picking up the guitar, she had written more than 100 songs, signed 2 publishing contracts, taught herself the rudiments of multi-track recording, and recorded a 10 song album in the basement.

Such manic behavior and musical addiction continued unabated. Glass finished a second album in 1991, and additional releases in 1995, 1997, and 1999. Her self-titled 1997 CD was widely downloaded on the internet during the original days of MP3, with the song "Guilty By Association" receiving more than 500,000 downloads. In 1999, she teamed with a group of independent artists to add a track to the R.E.M. tribute CD "Reconstructing the Fables".

Influenced by such artists as Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, Elton John, and The Indigo Girls, Glass has experimented with folk, blues rock, and hard rock. She has fronted a series of bands, as well as appearing as a solo performer.

Strongly interested in audio, Glass has always taken an active part in recording her own, and other people's, music. She began by purchasing a 4-track portastudio, which quickly expanded to 8-tracks. In 1995, she built a pro 24 track studio, Glass House Recording, from the ground up in an old 1900's store. Husband Paul Bultman came on board as chief engineer, and he and Glass produced a series of artists through their Throwing Stones record label in addition to running a commercial recording studio.

Throughout the early 1990's, Glass learned the finer points of artist development, promotion, and the music business. Local musicians began to call on her for her business advice, which led to further experience in management, production, writing, and teaching. She also founded a CD Replication Company, Glass House CD.

Still manic, Glass discovered the Internet in 1995. In 1996, she developed Indie-Music.com, a destination for independent musicians on the web, and the project that has taken up the lion's share of her time for more than 9 years. First started as a way to help fellow musicians, the website has led to both writing and speaking opportunities in recent years. Glass has appeared at such events as The Atlantis Music Conference, Midwest Music Summit, 2NMC, and the The Philadelphia Music Conference. Her articles are read by more than 50,000 monthly vistors at Indie-Music.com and she has earned a reputation as an indie scene veteran.

Glass would like to have more time to write and record music, but loves her "job" as founder and spokesperson for Indie-Music.com. She considers it more fun than work.
