Fine
fodder for the REM fan
"As
with most tribute albums, it helps if you like who the tribute
is being paid to. REM's one of the classic bands now, so it's
good to hear the now generation giving a shot of spunk to a
few songs we've heard a lot in original forms. One such nicety
is Suzanne Glass doing "Losing My Religion," complete with Andy
Ruff on mandolin. The 45 minute CD begins with Hubbard's Cupboard
doing a good rockin' indie version of "Exhuming McCarthy." I
just about prefer this to the original actually. And of course
the disc must end on "It's the End of the World," with some
good drum programming from Goz Inyama. Not only fine fodder
for the REM fan, but for the many indie bands bunched up here.
Everyone has their own distinctive voice - nobody's doing an
impression. Thank God."

"This
is really good. Nice work. I will show it to Mitch Easter as
we begin recording our new album with him in 3 weeks."
Truly
a tribute
"Taking
their cue from the band that inspired them, 11 independent artists
have applied a little do-it-yourself elbow grease and recorded
Reconstructing the Fables, an album of reinterpretations of
songs by music legends R.E.M."
~ The Augusta Chronicle
"...this
entire CD is a worthy addition to anyone's CD collection--R.E.M.
fan or not..."
~ The Metropolitan Spirit
"Early
REM has benefitted many of us and this tribute is back to the
garage and a good time is guaranteed for all."
